On the 12th of September 2011, the remnants of Hurricane Katia arrived off the west-coast of Scotland. Its arrival threatened the central belt of Scotland with rain and severe gale-force winds with potential traffic disruption and property damage. On the day, the WeatherEvents.net mobile weather lab streamed live video and weather data rom the Ayrshire coastline, webcasting spectacular views of angry seas breaking over the sea wall at Saltcoats. The live video stream was watched by over 1000 viewers from 16 different countries around the world. In addition, we provided windspeed updates to STV news crews throughout the day, as well as giving multiple TV, radio and newspaper interviews about the storm and it's potential impacts. Click on the below thumbnails for larger views: The following video is a compilation of the video streamed live to the internet, captured both by the windscreen-mounted camera, and also the mast-mounted weathercam. Following is a snippet of our interview with STV News, regarding the conditions: Radio interviews with BBC Radio Scotland's "Call Kaye" show both on the day, and a followup interview on the day following the storm:
